Xing Zhao  is a Shanghai-based arts writer, editor, translator and cultural industry specialist. His writing has appeared in The Art Newspaper, CNN, Time Out Shanghai, OutThere Magazine, City Weekend, Zing, Numero, Men’s Uno, and other publications. He is a regular contributor to Architectural Digest, with a focus on contemporary artist and designer interview stories. He writes in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

He has consulted to private clients, art galleries, museums and auction houses, managed international art projects, exhibitions, and large-scale experiential live events, developed audience engaging content strategy and translated widely ranging from essays, press materials, to exhibition and auction catalogues. He has worked with clients including Phillips Auctions, WeWork, the Future Laboratory, Louis Vuitton, Edition Hotels, Hong Kong University and Nestlé.

Xing holds a masters degree in Cultural Studies from the University of Edinburgh.

When he’s not writing or translating, he enjoys traveling and cooking.
